This week, we supplied one of our partner installers with a shallow dig Klargester 3800l Gamma septic tank. The site was a tricky one and as always, the contractor took extra care to select the correct unit for the customer. Sited very close to a an old wall, it was important that the groundworks were carried out with precision.
Replacing the ancient brick septic tank was the first job, with this removed, the new tank could then be installed. A job like the stands to take 3-4 days depending on the conditions and the site plan. In this case, the discharge was to ground through a drainage field. The General Binding rules state that a septic tank can discharge to ground but cannot discharge to a watercourse – this is due to the amount of treatment the final effluent has.
The Klargester Gamma is a polyethylene tank, meaning it is light and strong. With a standard 1m invert, it is a versatile option. The neck can be extended to give a deeper invert if required. The 3800l Gamma is suitable for up to 10 people and in an application like this one (a house which has sporadic use) it is the perfect option.
As you can see, the tank is surrounded by concrete and is sat on a 250mm concrete base. Our partner installers always adhere to the exact manufacturers instructions, giving you complete peace of mind.
