Surface Water
With growing urbanisation and development, there is a higher need to manage surface water to protect our ecosystems.
We offer a full range of surface water solutions for a number of domestic and commercial applications.
Not sure what you need? We can work straight from site drawings or plans.
What we offer:
● Attenuation and rainwater
● harvesting tanks
● Full retention separators
● Bypass separators
● Flow controls
Surface water is managed by using sustainable drainage systems (SuDS.) These ensure that there is minimal impact on local ecosystems when development takes place. The aim is to manage peak stormwater flow rates by containing the excess flow at source before releasing it at a specified reduced rate during and after the rain eases.
The four pillars which SuDS are designed to improve are: water quality, water quantity, amenity, and biodiversity.
SuDS reduce the risk of flooding by controlling both flow rates and volumes of water, protecting surrounding areas from the effects of inundation. But SuDS also clean the run-off water, removing any contaminants, thereby improving its quality.
Each technique has a slightly different role, to harvest, infiltrate, slow, store, convey and treat water run-off on (or close to) site. As this suggests, SuDS techniques – both natural and proprietary – are frequently specified in combination rather than isolation.
