Continued Professional Development with Klargester Kingspan
As a part of delivering the very best service possible, we work closely with out manufacturers and supplier to ensure that all staff are informed, education and most importantly up-to-date when it comes to the products that we supply.
Recently, we spent some time with the team at Klargester (which is part of the Kingspan group) at their factory and offices in Aylesbury. It was a great opportunity to discuss the exciting development that they have in the pipe line, see the products we sell each day being made and to polish up on technical knowledge – something we highly pride.
Manufacturing
To really understand a product, it is imperative that you understand its lifecycle. How can you truly know how something functions if you have never seen its component parts? Spending time with the experts at Klargester allowed us to see the processes that their products go through before they are compiled into the final article. To see an Alpha septic tank being pressed is strangely satisfying and the hand-craftmanship always astounds us. The technical aspects of the composition of GRP is always aw inspiring, and when you see the tanks being sprayed into life, it is quite a sight.
Getting a gauge of how bespoke units are manufactured was also a key part of the trip. We provide solutions for pumping stations and wastewater management that require products that are made to order – it is always interesting to see how our instructions are relayed and how these specs and designs are brought to fruition. It was great to see one of the large bespoke pumping stations we ordered being assembled as well as an enormous 50 person BioDisc that is due to be completed and delivered in August.
Design
In this industry, there are a lot of emails and a lot of phone calls. As a business, PSR like to keep things personal – as such, it was great to meet the engineering team who help us provide technical sketches of the products that are built for our customers. It was also a good opportunity to build on our shared knowledge of how the processes work. PSR are always looking for ways to make our services more effective and efficient for the end user and by working closely with design teams from the manufacturers we work closely with, we can ensure that the service we provide is accurate, speedy and precise.
Knowledge
Moving forward and ensuring the best solution for our customers means knowing our stuff. We made sure that the time we spent with Klargester was focused on building product knowledge. PSR are always looking for ways to ensure that customers don’t just get good value, they get sound advice too. Simply providing the cheapest option doesn’t make you a good provider – we want our customers to be able to ask us the challenging questions and we want to be able to give them the answers and advise them to buy the right equipment for their application. We talked about tolerances, product capabilities and most importantly went through numerous case studies to interleave the theoretical with reality.
